Midge Ure is a Scottish musician, singer-songwriter, and producer known for his influential contributions to the new wave and synth-pop music movements. Born on October 10, 1953, in Cambuslang, Scotland, Ure rose to fame as the frontman of the band Ultravox and as a member of the groundbreaking group Visage. His work with Ultravox produced hits like “Vienna” and “Dancing with Tears in My Eyes,” which helped define the sound of the 1980s. Ure is also recognized for his humanitarian efforts, particularly his involvement in the Band Aid charity supergroup and the Live Aid benefit concert.
