The Mighty Lemon Drops were a British alternative rock band that emerged in the 1980s and gained prominence during the indie and psychedelic rock movements. Formed in Wolverhampton in 1985, the band consisted of Paul Marsh (vocals/guitar), David Newton (guitar), Tony Linehan (bass), and Keith Rowley (drums). Their jangly guitar pop sound drew comparisons to other indie bands of the era like The Smiths and Echo & the Bunnymen. The Mighty Lemon Drops achieved commercial success with albums like “Happy Head” (1986) and singles like “Inside Out.” Their music embodied the atmospheric and melodic qualities of the alternative rock scene during the late ’80s and early ’90s.
