The Notting Hillbillies were a British-American folk-rock band formed in 1986. The band’s lineup included some notable musicians, such as Mark Knopfler, best known as the frontman of Dire Straits, as well as Steve Phillips, Brendan Croker, and Guy Fletcher. The Notting Hillbillies were characterized by their rootsy, Americana-inspired sound, which blended elements of country, folk, and rock. Their debut album, “Missing…Presumed Having a Good Time” (1990), featured the hit single “Your Own Sweet Way” and showcased their exceptional musicianship and storytelling lyricism.
