Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (OMD) is a British electronic music band that emerged in the late 1970s and became a pioneering force in the synth-pop genre. Founded by Andy McCluskey and Paul Humphreys, OMD achieved significant success with their catchy melodies, sophisticated arrangements, and innovative use of synthesizers. Their breakthrough came with the hit single “Enola Gay” in 1980, followed by a string of successful albums, including “Architecture & Morality.” OMD’s music is characterized by a blend of electronic elements, intelligent lyrics, and emotive vocals. Over the years, the band’s lineup has evolved, but McCluskey has remained a constant creative force.
