The Red Devils was a blues-rock band that gained prominence in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Formed in Los Angeles, the band’s lineup featured vocalist and harmonica player Lester Butler, guitarist Dave Lee Bartel, bassist Jonny Ray Bartel, and drummer Bill Bateman. The Red Devils became known for their energetic and authentic approach to blues music, drawing inspiration from Chicago blues traditions. Their intense live performances and raw, gritty sound garnered attention, and they developed a dedicated fan base. The band’s notable album, “King King” (1992), recorded live at the King King Club in Los Angeles, received critical acclaim.
