The Chimes were a British pop group formed in the late 1980s. The band consisted of Pauline Henry on lead vocals, Mike Peden on keyboards and programming, and James Locke on drums and percussion. They gained significant attention with their debut single “1-2-3,” which showcased Pauline Henry’s soulful and powerful vocals. The Chimes’ music blended elements of pop, soul, and R&B, creating a unique and infectious sound.
