The Dambuilders were an American indie rock band that formed in the early 1990s and gained recognition for their eclectic sound and inventive songwriting. Hailing from New York City, the band was led by frontwoman and guitarist Joan Wasser, along with drummer Kevin March, bassist Dave Derby, and guitarist Eric Masunaga. The Dambuilders were known for their seamless fusion of alternative rock, punk, and pop elements, often incorporating strings and unconventional instruments into their music. Their songs featured intricate arrangements, catchy hooks, and thoughtful lyrics. The band released a series of critically acclaimed albums, including “Ruby Red” and “Against the Stars,” which showcased their musical versatility and the remarkable range of Wasser’s vocals.
