Trenchmouth was an American post-hardcore band that emerged in the early 1990s. Hailing from Chicago, the band consisted of Damon Locks (vocals), Wayne Montana (guitar), Chris DeZutter (bass), and Fred Armisen (drums). Trenchmouth’s music defied easy categorization, blending elements of punk, funk, jazz, and experimental rock. Their sound was characterized by intricate and angular guitar work, frenetic rhythms, and Locks’ distinctive vocal delivery. Trenchmouth’s lyrics often touched on sociopolitical themes, delivering sharp and thought-provoking commentary.
