Prev Next

This lot is a group of five different train engine photos by Malcolm McCarter, a well-known photographer of railroads. The photos are 5″ tall by 7″ wide and show railroad engines from the Grand Trunk & Western Railroad and the New York Central Railroad. The dates of the photos were determined by the “Kodak/Velox/Paper” backstamp on each photo. Each photo also has a rubber stamp indicating that the original negatives belong to Malcolm McCarter. The group includes:

  • Engine #6324 Grand Trunk Western Railroad at a Depot Yard
  • Engine #6318 Grand Trunk Western Railroad With Tender
  • Engine #6317 Grand Trunk Western Railroad With Tender
  • Engine #6319 Grand Trunk Western Railroad at Switching Yard
  • Engine #6019 New York Central “Niagara” 4-8-4 Steam Engine Photo

Please note:

  • The actual color of the photo is typically a little more yellow than the scanned image. The McCarter photos are whiter than the Bolton photos.
  • The photos are stored flat but may exhibit various degrees of curling when removed from the bag depending on the environment.

These photos are in very good condition with some foxing along the edges but no tears or creases. Please review the included photos of the actual items to make a complete determination of their condition.
