This lot is an original 1960s photo of the Western & Atlantic Railroad Engine No. 3 known as “The General”. The engine was a 4-4-0 “American” type steam locomotive built in 1855 and restored/rebuilt several times prior to the photo. Throughout the 1960s, the engine pulled Louisville and Nashville Combine Car Number 665 (shown in the photo) as it traveled to various places across the eastern US, including the 1964 New York World’s Fair under its own power.
This photo is approximately 8″ tall by 10″ wide and is guaranteed original to the time period listed.
All our items are kept in a smoke-free and pet-free environment.
