1922 Woodbridge Ferris Former Michigan Governor Senator Campaign Pinback Button
Prev Next

This lot is a 1922 campaign button promoting Woodbridge N. Ferris’ run for senator. Running as a Democrat, Ferris, founder of Ferris Institute (now Ferris State University) and former governor of Michigan, defeated the incumbent Republican Charles E. Townsend in a notable victory, becoming the first Michigan Democrat elected to the Senate since the Civil War.

The pin measures approximately 7/8″ in diameter and is quite scarce. NOTE: White areas in the photos are light reflections from the plastic covers. None of the buttons have white areas.
