Prev Next

This lot is a vintage piece of sheet music entitled “Not in a Thousand Years” with words and music by Geo. Fairman. The song was published in 1919 and talks about a man who can forgive a woman who jilted him, but he can never forget her. George Fairman was an American composer and lyricist active during the early 20th century. He wrote music and lyrics for many popular songs, including “In the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia” and “My Home in Tennessee.” Fairman is also credited as the writer of several songs for the Ziegfeld Follies, a series of elaborate theatrical productions that were popular in the early 1900s. Despite his success as a songwriter, not much is known about Fairman’s personal life or career beyond his contributions to popular music.
