This lot is a vintage vest or hat pin commemorating Rolling Thunder IX, a biker rally held in Washington, D.C. on May 26, 1996.
The Rolling Thunder bike rallies, held annually in Washington, D.C., were powerful demonstrations of solidarity and remembrance for American POWs (Prisoners of War) and MIAs (Missing in Action). These events, initiated in 1988, brought together thousands of motorcyclists from across the country over Memorial Day weekend to honor those who have served and sacrificed. The rallies featured a poignant ride through the capital, symbolizing a loud, visible call for government accountability and heightened awareness of the plight of POWs and MIAs.
The pin is approximately 1″ in diameter. It is constructed of a metal backing covered by clear epoxy resin. It has a double-pin back and comes with two butterfly clasps.
All our items are kept in a smoke-free and pet-free environment.
This pin is in very good condition with minimal wear. It has several small scratches when viewed under magnification. Please review the included photos to make a complete determination of condition.
